URC has eighteen staff members headed by a Pro-Rector. The URC is staffed by specially trained technicians and professional scientists who are professor, associate professors, lectures and assistant lecturers in physics, chemistry, botany and zoology.
The laboratory instruments and facilities are managed by a team of those scientists and technicians assigned to the Centre from the University of Yangon and other Universities. The URC has a range of expertise across the broad spectrum of Science and they are available for discussion on research problems and technical development.
Location
The URC is located on Convocation Road, main campus in University of Yangon.

International Collaboration
Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS) and University of Yangon began collaborating through the KFAS international scholar exchange fellowship (ISEF) in 2001, which is a live-and-research program in Korea for one year that has invited twenty-five Myanmar scholars over the past eleven years. After the collaboration began, the two institutions coestablished Asia Research Centre in University of Yangon(ARC-UY) in August 2002. The objective of this centre is to provide research grants and academic support to Myanmar scholars at the local level.
Training and Up skilling
URC provides trainings and up skilling opportunities to nurture the technicians and intellectuals needed by the Universities. Technical training is also offered to share the knowledge of modern laboratory instrumentation among researchers. Members of Myanmar Police Forces were trained to be familiar with the research instruments of URC from 5-6-2004 to 15-6-2004. Training on operation and application of advanced research instruments at URC was conducted from (21- 11- 2005 to 28-11-2005) and (19-3-2012 to 30-3-2012). Technological and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle was transferred to the Air Force in September 2010. A training of Supercomputing Technology was offered to the officers of Defense Services (Communication) from August to December 2010.
Training ( 2012)
- Training on operation and application of advanced research instruments 1/2012 (19-3-2012 to 30-3-2012)
- Training on operation and application of advanced research instruments for new appointed Chemistry demonstrators (12-11-2012 to 13-11-2012)
- Training on operation and application of advanced research instruments for new appointed Botany demonstrators (25-11-2012 to 30-11-2012)
- Training on operation and application of Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer for staffs from Water Irrigation Department (22-11-2012 to 30-11-2012)
- Training on basic knowledge for sample preparation and some advanced instruments for Industrial Chemistry academic staffs and research students(Dagon University) (3-12-2012 to 10-12-2012)
